About Us
Science is easier to understand when you can touch it. We build simulations that let you.
What we do
Science Academy is a free collection of interactive 3D science simulations that run in any modern browser, with no sign-up and nothing to install. You can build an atom and pull its electrons off, snap atoms into molecules, mix chemicals in a virtual lab, read a Vernier caliper, wire a circuit, time a pendulum, open up a 3D cell, build DNA and focus a virtual microscope.
Every tool comes with a guided tour, a simulation of a famous experiment (like Thomson’s cathode-ray tube or Rutherford’s gold foil) and quizzes, so learners don’t just see what happens but how we know. Our articles explain the ideas in plain language, each linked to a model you can play with.
Who it’s for
- Students revising for school exams or just curious about how matter works.
- Teachers who want a free, safe virtual lab to show on the classroom screen.
- Anyone who wants to see science instead of only reading about it.
Subjects
Chemistry, Physics and Biology: each with hands-on simulations, guided tours and quizzes that explain why every answer is right.
Chemistry tools
- Atom BuilderAdd protons, neutrons and electrons and watch any of the 118 elements, isotopes and ions take shape.
- Electron LabFire photons at an atom: watch electrons jump between shells, glow in colour and finally escape.
- Molecule BuilderDrag atoms together to form single, double and triple bonds and discover real molecules.
- Chemistry LabPour chemicals into a beaker, heat them over a Bunsen burner and watch real reactions.
- States of MatterHeat ice until it melts and boils: watch the particles change and the heating curve draw itself, flat steps and all.
- Chemical EnergeticsCollide molecules over an activation-energy hill and watch exothermic reactions heat up and endothermic ones cool down.
- ElectrolysisSwitch on a power pack and watch ions drift to the electrodes: copper plates the cathode and gases bubble into the tubes.
- Nuclear FusionHeat a plasma and fire nuclei together to see how the Sun turns mass into energy.
- Chemistry FormulasEvery chemistry equation, live: type numbers or pull them from what you built.
Accuracy
The simulations use real data (atomic masses, electron configurations, electronegativities, binding energies) and real chemistry rules, simplified so they run in a browser. They are for learning, not for planning real experiments. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we’ll fix it.
